Fragaria vesca var. semperflorens
Alpine strawberries are the prettier cousins of regular strawberries, with delicate white flowers and small round shapes. Want to get the full taste? Then eat them directly off the plant.
Since this strawberry is growing in your apartment and you don't have any bees buzzing around, its little cherished flowers require polination by hand in order to grow fruit - this is best done with a little paint brush. Afterwards it will take approximately 3-4 weeks until you can harvest first fruits. To produce fruits, this plant require a higher light intensity and lighting period compared to most other plants in our seed offering.
Time from seeding to first harvest in Herbert: 12-16 weeks
Traditional farming: 20-24 weeks
