Originating from South America, Stevia's taste has a slower onset and longer duration than that of sugar, keeping you happy longer but healthier. You can use it to sweeten your teas, like a tea made from fresh lemon balm or peppermint from Herbert, or to sweeten any type of dessert. This plant has been used for more than a thousand years in South America and was named after the Spanish botanist Petrus Jacobus Stevus. Also commonly known as sweetleaf, the leaves can be used both fresh and dried.

Stevia loves sunlight and can grow quite high, so regular harvesting is advised. Use the leaves to sweeten up your teas or coffees, the leaves are usually at their sweetest shortly before the plant starts to flower.
